John is a very knowledgeable and helpful disc expert. He was up front and professional in giving me cost options to resolve the problem with my hard drive failure. When doing the job, he kept me informed of the progress and of the options that opened up when he had determined the extent of the disaster. He sourced a drive for me and installed it in my laptop. The recovered data was professionally presented on DVDs together with soiftware to reinstall the files. Unfortunately, the replacement drive developed faults after about 3 months and John immediately replaced it, no debate, and reinstated my data in less than 24 hours (on a weekend!) I'm very pleased with the service and have already recommended him.

As a freelance musician with a rather casual attitude to backing-up my computer data, I needed help when my hard drive failed and 3 hours of audio backing tracks were in jeopardy. What price can you put on irretrievable family photographs? Having suffered from a short circuited HDD, I had my regular PC geek have a look, but had the bad news that there was nothing he could do. He gave me a number, which I promptly called, where John instantly stepped up to tell me that it was highly unlikely that the data was unrecoverable and that he was sure that he could help. He advised on the process involved, the cost, the time and the deliverable. A couple of days later, I had an email report listing all of the data, and upon confirmation, this was all sorted into its original files and folders and copied onto a new HDD for me. The turnaround was very prompt, even without paying for 'express service', all the data was there, the cost was as quoted and the old hdd was recycled. I could not ask for more, and hopefully will never cross paths with John again - but have kept his details, just in case!

My wife was undertaking a professional degree standard course last summer when the hard drive in her Apple MacBook failed. Her work was not fully backed up so, when the Apple engineer we used to install a new drive was unable to gain access to the damaged drive, we followed his recommendation and contacted Dataquest International Ltd (DQ). After a phone call to DQ outlining the problem and ascertaining their terms of business I delivered the faulty drive to their office. I chose the non-priority “Economy” option and I was comforted by the fixed price aspect of DQ’s terms of business. DQ reported within the ten day diagnosis time that they were unable to read the data from the image file they had created but they had discovered that the electro-mechanical part of the drive was damaged. I authorised replacement parts to be obtained and these enabled DQ to create a readable image of the data files on the drive and in particular to recover a whole week’s detailed work. This enabled her to complete and deliver the course work well within the stipulated deadline. We were highly satisfied with the prompt and efficient manner in which John Wilson and his team dealt with our problem. We would use them again if the need arose.

When my new Sony Handycam completely died leaving valuable family wedding video footage on the hard drive , Dataquest came to my rescue. They were much cheaper than their competitors , provided a prompt, helpful , friendly and efficient service and retrieved all the video onto DVD's without damaging the machine. A pity Sony don't provide a similar customer friendly service.

I accidentally formatted my SD while on holiday in China. I was absolutely devastated. I found out that retrieval services were available and found Dataquest International Ltd using a search engine. They offered the best price I could find for retrieving photos from an SD card. They were very helpful and answered all the questions I had. The service was fairly quick. They managed to retrieve more or less all of 400+ photos and 5 videos. I was so happy to get them back, as it was practically a once in a lifetime trip! Their service was brilliant and I have recommended them to other people.

Over the last 4 or 5 years I have had occasion to use Dataquest on about 8 to 10 occasions where my own skills at recovery have fallen at the dead disk level. On each occasion Dataquest have managed to recover all of the data requested within an agreed time plan and cost level agreed with them at the outset. I have previously, on one occasion, use Ontrack to do this type of work and whilst there no complaint about the work done and data recovered, the cost of the work was prohibitively expensive.
